In alignment with World Health Day, the Vancouver Art Gallery has launched a new collaboration with BC Parks Foundation’s PaRx program, Canada’s national nature prescription program.
Recognizing the power of both art and nature in supporting health and well-being, this innovative initiative allows health care professionals to prescribe a visit to the exhibition “Emily Carr: Navigating an Impenetrable Landscape” for their patients and an optional guest.
“The Vancouver Art Gallery is honoured to collaborate in this visionary program, which represents a major step towards growing a culture of care in our community,” says Sirish Rao, Interim Co-CEO at the Vancouver Art Gallery. “This program is, to the best of our knowledge, the first instance anywhere in the world of a collaboration between a nature prescription program and an arts institution. It could not be more apt that it originates in British Columbia and centres around one of the province’s most celebrated artistic figures—Emily Carr.”
