As horrific as a heart attack may be, there’s a linear health care approach to see the experience through from the initial incident, to outpatient care and recovery. But when you replace the words “heart attack” with “drug overdose,” the same methods don’t apply.

The newly established Regional Addictions Program has been set up specifically to do just that. The program represents a partnership between Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care.
