We must harness digital technology for 21st-century health care

One example of big data-driven solutions in health care is the data-centre initiative in the Innovation Hub at the new St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. Through CHEOS: Centre for Health Evaluation & Outcome Sciences, the Providence health-care team has always been at the forefront of using data to evaluate health outcomes, but this is a multidisciplinary, multi-sector platform that is purpose-built, with improved patient experience and greatest value for health dollars in mind.
