Holy Family Hospital staff who are staying at hotels to minimize the risk to vulnerable family members have been ordered to return home to protect hotel staff and guests.
Healthcare workers say the order, which was communicated to them late Wednesday night, swaps one risk for another and forces them into a situation where they could put their loved ones in danger.
“Throwing them out like that, it’s heartless,” said Aaron Yang, a Vancouver man whose partner was told to pack her bags and leave her hotel room by 8 a.m. Thursday morning before starting her morning shift.
